Members of the MUMB departed Oxford on December 23rd to travel to Florida as the RedHawks faced Mississippi State in the St. Petersburg Bowl, held at Tropicana Field on December 26th. It was a long bus ride down but our hotel right on the beach made it worth it.
Band members wasted no time in jumping into their swimsuits and heading to the beach to enjoy the absolutely perfect weather! On Christmas Day the MUMB met up with the Mississippi State band for a couple of joint pep rallies along with some good natured fun including some tug-o-war battles and a cupcake eating contest.
Game day began with a quick breakfast and one final pep rally before heading to the stadium to cheer on the team. It was a hard-fought game with Miami dominating much of the first half. Though we didn’t win, it was a great trip all the same and we can’t wait until our next trip!
